SEGA are on fire right now, with some excellent new IP such as Binary Domain, yet it is their back catalogue that is really impressing. Many of their best Dreamcast games have found a home on XBLA, with Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio and Sonic Adventure among those to receive the re-release treatment. Even their Mega Drive games have been brought to a new audience, yet one console generation has been a little left in the cold… Until now!
NiGHTS into Dreams is a favourite of many gamers of a certain age, one of the first games to introduce full analogue control on the Saturn, even introducing its own unique controller to help enhance the experience. When SEGA announced some of their older games would be coming back, NiGHTS was up the top of many wish-lists.
It’s technically not the first time SEGA have tried to re-release the game, it found a new home on the Playstation 2, but with mixed results. However this latest effort on XBLA is exactly what was needed. On offer are both a new HD version of the game, along with the original release itself.
